I hate the phrase bucket list. It implies that the experiences we seek out are merely items to check off rather than moments to savor.

Memorable travel experiences can be as dramatic as reaching one of the Seven Summits (which I’ve done) or as prosaic as a mountain picnic. They can be something you spend years planning or an instance of perfect spontaneity and serendipity. What they share is that they leave you not just with happy memories but with a new connection to your better self.
